Building a Better Community Together for District 4
Leadership & Commitment
Building A Stronger Local Community
Brian Jones has been an active part of Orange County District 4 for years, serving his community through leadership on advisory boards, supporting community service initiatives and fostering collaboration between residents and local organizations.
To build a safer community, we must act now on micromobility safety.
E-bikes and e-scooters are faster and more powerful than ever and they are motorized vehicles, not toys. Many can travel 20 to 30 miles per hour, sharing space with cars, pedestrians, and cyclists. Parents must know the law, require certified safety gear, and set clear rules: No passengers, no earbuds, no phones, and no reckless riding.
The data is clear: micromobility crashes are not random. They are concentrated around schools, major crossings, and high-traffic corridors. As County Commissioner, I will focus first on the top 10 schools with the highest incident activity prioritizing safer crossings, better visibility, traffic calming, targeted education, and coordinated enforcement during arrival and dismissal.
I will partner with Orange County Public Schools, the School Board, and safety organizations to move from reactive response to proactive prevention.
Protecting children requires leadership—and school-area micromobility safety will be a day-one priority.

The Strength of Our Community
Orange County District 4 encompasses parts of southeast Orange County. The district is one of the county’s fastest-growing regions, home to diverse neighborhoods, new infrastructure development, and expanding business and education corridors. The District 4 Commissioner serves as one of eight members of the Orange County Board of County Commissioners, which oversees local governance, zoning, community services, and public initiatives for more than 1.4 million residents countywide. Each commissioner represents a defined geographic area and collaborates with advisory boards, residents, and local organizations to guide responsible growth and maintain quality of life across the region.
